Folding Marble, Stone Foldings, Recrystallizations, piezo prints, 2013 - 2014
Stone Foldings, Folding Marble and Recrystallization are an investigation of the structures and surfaces of rocks and crystals through representation in the radically different medium of paper. By photographing rock surfaces, printing and folding these, the folds in paper echo the ridges of stone and the characteristics of both mediums merge: the rough surfaces and monumentality of rock with the fragility and smooth flatness of paper.
