Poses (On Earth, gravity gives weight to physical objects), objects, installations, performances, 2018 - ongoing
Poses is a series of objects, made from different types of metal and stone. The objects are of a hybrid nature, lending their shapes from weightlifting and other body workout tools, martial arts weapons, medieval shields, shaman mirrors and science fiction or fantasy imagery. By incorporating the symbolic and energetic properties linked to the specific types of stones, crystals and metals, they offer the opportunity for a more than physical engagement: overcoming gravity, calibrating our physical and emotional balance, connecting with the Earth and Heaven, gaining bodily and mental strength and spiritual clarity. With these tools for transformation I explore the fact that we not only want to bend nature to our will, but also want to be shaped by nature itself. The objects can be understood as tools for healing, empowerment, transformation and connection. Tools that remind us of our innate power to raise our vibration and with it the vibration of the Earth.
