The formation of agate stone is assumed to happen by growing inside of cavities from the wall of the matrix crust inwards, thus conforming to the shape of the cavity. This series of photographs relates to the formation process, with the agates morphed into the photographic format and presented behind glossy perspex, referring to the presentation of polished agate slices in geological museums.
